How it works
The process
Five steps that usually take six to ten weeks. The longest part is the waiting; the most important is the fitting.
- 01ConsultationWe work out what you need and for what occasion. We choose the piece and the cloth, and take measurements.
- 02ConfirmationYou receive a specification, a fixed price and a date. A 50% deposit starts the work.
- 03MakingCutting and sewing in the atelier. Nothing happens during this time — the work simply gets done.
- 04FittingOne to three fittings depending on the cut. Adjustments are made on the spot until the piece is right.
- 05HandoverThe balance is settled and the piece goes home with you, along with advice on caring for it.
Measurements
We take measurements once, and properly
The first measuring takes around twenty minutes and everything that follows rests on it. We keep your measurements on file, so the next commission needs only a short check.
If a piece is meant for particular shoes or particular underthings, bring them along — length and placement depend on them.
Common questions
How long does the whole thing take?
Usually six to ten weeks from confirmation of the order. For evening pieces tied to a fixed date, we recommend starting at least three months ahead.
How many fittings are there?
For dresses and sets from the collection, usually one or two. For your own design, two or three — and for demanding cuts, a toile in cheaper cloth beforehand.
What if it still is not right?
Alterations are included in the price and are not limited in number — we work until the piece is right. A made-to-measure commission cannot be returned or resold, so the money is not refunded.
Can I bring my own fabric?
Yes. We will look at it together first — not every cloth carries every cut, and it is better to find that out before cutting than after.
Do I have to travel to Pilsen?
No. Consultations and fittings take place in Pilsen, in Prague, or at your address, whichever suits you.
Can a last-minute date be met?
Sometimes, depending on how full the atelier is. Do get in touch — we can tell you that month's capacity straight away.
